Therma-Tru Roof Repair in Miami: What to Know First

Therma-Tru roof repair in Miami is work we handle as an independent Therma-Tru service provider, and most jobs are diagnosed and repaired in a single visit once parts are confirmed. We’re not going to quote you a price over the phone without seeing the damage, because nobody honest does that, but we will give you a written, line-item estimate before any work begins and the number on that estimate is the number you pay. If you own a Therma-Tru door or window assembly that’s failed at the roofline, or a Therma-Tru skylight flashing that’s letting water into your soffit, call (863) 946-5039 and a real person picks up. Ed Winslow’s name is on the door, and on every repair we do in Miami.

How Therma-Tru Products Fail - and How We Fix Them

Therma-Tru builds doors and entry systems, so when we talk about roof repair on a Therma-Tru product in Miami, we’re almost always talking about the intersection where the product meets the roofline: flashing, head jamb caps, eyebrow overhangs, transom windows, and the drip edge that protects them. Here’s what we actually see in Miami homes:

  • Leaking transoms and arched eyebrow windows over entry doors. The Therma-Tru Classic-Craft and Fiber-Classic lines often ship with arched transoms or eyebrow assemblies above the door unit. In Miami’s afternoon downpours, if the flashing above that eyebrow wasn’t lapped under the roof’s second course of shingles, or the kickout flashing at each end is missing, water runs straight into the head jamb. We see it all the time. Our fix: remove the top cladding, re-lap the flashing properly, install new drip edge, and reseal with a Miami-rated polyurethane caulk that holds up under UV.
  • Fascia rot above Tru-Defense door systems. The Tru-Defense series has a multi-point lock system and composite jambs, good product. But if the roof drip edge over that door can’t handle wind-blown rain, the fascia board above it soaks every time a squall comes through, and then the rot migrates into the head cap trim. We replace the fascia, correct the drip edge overhang, and usually save the door itself.
  • Sun-degraded flashing tape and sealant on older Smooth-Star installations. Therma-Tru’s Smooth-Star line has been around long enough in Miami that we’ll see units from fifteen or even twenty years back. The door is fine. The flashing tape above it isn’t. That old builder-grade tape bakes on a south-facing elevation, turns brittle, and separates. We strip it, inspect the sheathing under the roofline, repair any water damage, and re-flash with butyl-based peel-and-stick that won’t harden the same way.
  • Drip-edge rust and separation over Therma-Tru sliding patio doors. South Miami salt air is rough on painted steel drip edge. Over slab door units, especially the Therma-Tru 380 series sliding glass door, a rusted drip edge lets water track behind the stucco and wick down into the door header. Some companies will just caulk over it. That fails in six months. We cut out the rusted section, replace it with aluminum, and make sure the offset actually directs water out past the door cap, not behind it.
  • Ponding and roof-induced header sag. If the roof framing above a Therma-Tru entry has settled, or the roof valley dumps too much water right over the door, the header can sag a fraction and crack the head jamb seal. That’s when a door “leak” is really a roof problem. We inspect the roof above first, not the door first, because in Miami it’s usually the roof drainage that’s the root cause. Fix the roof, then the door works the way it was designed to.

Our Therma-Tru Roof Repair Process

  1. 1
You call (863) 946-5039. A person answers, no phone tree. We ask what you’re seeing: water streaks, dripping from the head jamb, paint bubbling above the door, wet drywall near the roofline.
  2. 2
We inspect. We look at the roof edge above the Therma-Tru unit first, then the flashing, then the door or window itself. Half the time the door isn’t the real problem and we tell you that straight, because we’d rather do the repair that actually fixes it than the one that just bills a number.
  3. 3
We give you a written estimate. Line-item, in plain English. If it is over $200, you get $40 off. If you already have a written estimate from another company, we’ll give you a free second opinion on it.
  4. 4
We do the repair. OEM Therma-Tru trim and components where it matters for fit, quality aftermarket flashing and sealants where it’s the better product. We’ll tell you when we’re using which and why.
  5. 5
We test with water. On a dry day, we run water over the repair area slowly and watch. If it leaks, it’s not done. Most repairs don’t leak when we’re done, but if anything ever fails, the 36500-Day Done Right Promise means we make it right.
  6. 6
We clean up and walk you through what we did. You see the same photos we see, and Ed Winslow stands behind the work.

What Therma-Tru Roof Repair Costs in Miami

Honest numbers for Miami, based on what we see across roof-to-door repairs:

  • Simple flashing re-seal above a Therma-Tru entry door: $180-$320. This is the most common repair, and it’s the one other companies either skip or overcharge for.
  • Drip edge replacement over a Therma-Tru door or transom: $250-$450, depending on how much rusted steel has to come out and whether fascia repair is involved.
  • Eyebrow/transom re-flash with kickout flashing, both ends: $400-$700. This is the fix that actually stops the recurring leak when the roof just won’t shed water cleanly over the door.
  • Full fascia and header repair above a Therma-Tru unit: $600-$1,200. You’ll see this range when Miami’s wet season has been doing its work for a few years and the rot has had time to set in.

What moves the price: whether we need to cut back stucco or siding, whether the roof itself has a drainage problem that needs correcting at the same time, and whether the door or window unit itself has been compromised. Call (863) 946-5039 for a free estimate, and we’ll tell you the exact number before any work begins.

Why Miami Homeowners Call Winslow Windows & Doors for Therma-Tru Work

We’ve been at this since 2011, owned and operated by Ed Winslow, and we answer the phone 24 hours a day because storms don’t keep business hours. The 36500-Day Done Right Promise is exactly what it sounds like: if it’s not done right, we make it right. That’s not a line on a brochure, it’s a hundred-year standard we put behind every flashing repair, every drip edge, every water-damaged header we touch in Miami. Our techs are background-checked and arrive in uniform, so you know who’s at your door before the truck even stops. And because we install eight different manufacturers’ products, including PGT, CGI, CWS, and ES Windows, if you need a Therma-Tru repair and also want the rest of your exterior inspected while we’re out, we can do that in one visit, not three.

We’re the one down the road.

What Neighbors Say About Winslow Windows & Doors

★★★★

"Excellent work and a fair price for what it is, though impact glass is never cheap and one bedroom window arrived with a scratched pane. Ed flagged it before I saw it and the replacement went in without me chasing anyone."

BBartholomew Crenshaw
★★★★★

"Ed measured every opening himself and walked me through the product approval paperwork before I signed anything. When the inspector came he found the notice of acceptance taped inside a window like it should be and passed us first visit."

RRosalind Beaumont
★★★★★

"Our insurance agent asked for the wind mitigation paperwork and Ed had the whole file ready the day the job closed, every opening photographed. The premium conversation went very differently this year."

OOdessa Fairbanks
★★★★★

"We sat out a hurricane behind the windows Ed put in. The gusts threw a neighbour's trampoline down the street and the loudest thing in our house was the kettle. I rang him after to say thank you and he answered his own phone, same as always."
